Dr. Rosenwald also established the Indevus Pharmaceuticals which developed Sanctura—a cure for overactive bladder syndrome. This pharmaceutical drug was approved by the Food & Drug Administration. Later on, this company was sold to Endo Pharmaceuticals for $600 million. Another company he founded was the Enzymed Corp., which was eventually sold to Albany Molecular. Other companies owned and sold by Dr. Rosenwald include Polarx, Neose Technologies, and Interneuron Pharmaceuticals.
As a member of the Columbia-Presbyterian Health Sciences Advisory Council, Dr. Rosenwald extended his reach to in-depth medical research. He also formed his own foundation to provide millions of dollars to many medical education and research institutions. The Rosenwald foundation was a non-profit organization that opened doors for pioneering scientists and researchers to the medicine industry. He also gained acknowledgement in the research field for cancer treatment with his oncology-focused company, Cougar Biotechnology.
