Before his successful career in medical and investment industry, Dr Lindsay Rosenwald completed a major degree in Finance at the Pennsylvania State University in 1977 and a medical degree at the Temple University’s School of Medicine in 1983. His extensive academic records and promising skills allowed him to enter large and prestigious companies during the start of his career. In just few years since he started, many of his superiors and colleagues already realized his great potential in leading a team of professionals, whether in medicine or in the finance field. 

As time went on, Dr Lindsay Rosenwald has founded a number of companies and organizations that are mostly in line with finance and healthcare industries. One of the companies he founded was the Keryx Biopharmaceuticals. This is the company where a significant study about the statistical patient survival in metastatic colon cancer was developed. Dr. Rosenwald also established the Indevus Pharmaceuticals which developed Sanctura—a cure for overactive bladder syndrome. This pharmaceutical drug was approved by the Food & Drug Administration. Later on, this company was sold to Endo Pharmaceuticals for $600 million. Another company he founded was the Enzymed Corp., which was eventually sold to Albany Molecular. Other companies owned and sold by Dr. Rosenwald include Polarx, Neose Technologies, and Interneuron Pharmaceuticals.

As a member of the Columbia-Presbyterian Health Sciences Advisory Council, Dr. Rosenwald extended his reach to in-depth medical research. He also formed his own foundation to provide millions of dollars to many medical education and research institutions. The Rosenwald foundation was a non-profit organization that opened doors for pioneering scientists and researchers to the medicine industry. Because of almost two decades of his long list of accomplishments, Dr. Lindsay Rosenwald was considered as a visionary of biotechnology and medicine when he founded the OpusPoint Partners with Michael Weiss. He also gained acknowledgement in the research field for cancer treatment with his oncology-focused company, Cougar Biotechnology.

Dr. Rosenwald’s broad experience in his two main fields of expertise has brought him far ahead of others now. His undeniable success in managing highly skilled employees and making good relationship with industry leaders also contributed to his well-established reputation.
